Great experience, good beachfront view with wonderful weather. The island is less crowded everywhere in Nov.
Our condo just needed a small table between the chairs on the front porch so we could set drinks. Also a small lamp at bedside.

Overall, our vacation experience was good, not great, but good. The location of the property is stellar. There were, however, some issues with the condo. The condo was a 2.5 in maintenance. It needed a thorough cleaning, especially in the bathroom and some general maintenance like touch up painting. The main concern was the bed. The frame squeaked at every move. We looked under the bed and the frame was separated from the legs in the middle of the bed frame. I would recommend getting a new bed frame as the present one makes it impossible to get any sleep. Also we had to wait almost 30 mins after 4pm before we were sent the door code to get into the condo. A few other concerns were the modicum of bathroom towels (not enough), no kleenex, no toiletries of any kind (except 1 little bar of soap), no ziploc bags, plastic wrap or foil in the kitchen and no salt & pepper! Really, no salt & pepper! The management firm did as little as they possibly could to supply the condo for a really comfortable stay.

We arrived on Friday and as soon as I opened the door the smell in the room was a little musty. First time staying in this unit. I thought maybe it was the shower when I saw it. There were some mold spots in the door caulking and in some grout. This unit definitely needed a better cleaning or a fresh coat of paint on the trim work. By Saturday afternoon we noticed condensation on the bedroom wall and the paint bubbling. Called maintenance and they were there with 30 minutes. They explained the AC drip pan upstairs needed to be cleaned out and it was leaking causing the drip. They fixed it and cleaned up and put a dehumidifier in the room to help it dry up. Not anyone’s fault except maybe they should be doing routine maintenance on the AC pans to ensure this doesn’t happen in the future. They fixed it quickly but not my best stay at El Constante.

Best spot on the beach, close to the parking lot. The place was clean, very basic but did have a refrigerator. The bed has to be 50
Years old and creaked real loud every time you moved on it. Not very comfortable.

Upon arrival we noticed a heavy mildew smell, looking around we found there to be poorly kept vents and the place really needs updating. There was a constant smell in the bathroom either from the floor around the toilet or in the drains. Not pleasant at all.
The beach in front is a party spot on the weekends and not very family friendly. You would need to save a spot around 6:00-7:00am. The jacuzzi was closed and the pool was either closed for maintenance or packed with people throughout our stay.

It was the worse vacation ever. The first impression of 104 was that the sofa and chair were very dirty. I used the extra sheets to cover them so I could sit. One of the wall pictures kept falling off the wall in the kitchen due to lack of a hook in the back. I was told by padre escapes that pest spraying would be done in my unit while I occupied it. An invasion of my privacy as well as exposure to chemicals. They did however, respect my wishes not to have it done during my stay when I asked which I appreciated. I used the pool however, each time I was inconvenienced. Day one-they were still in the process of cleaning well after scheduled opening time(90 minutes after). So I swim with unsightly cleaning equipment in the pool and next to it. Day two-I was asked to get out of the pool for 1 1/2 hours so they could add chemical. However, they were kind enough to put the chemicals in later after I expressed my concern. Day three-while in the pool maintenance was blowing debris into the pool and dust in my eyes. It was then that I decided to go home one day early because I didn't feel like I was being treated as a guest but an inconvenience to the maintenance needed to be done. I am a returning guest of El Constante and my first experience was wonderful. However, this experience has discouraged me from thinking about any future stays.

The bed was very uncomfortable and the dishwasher kept beeping it would not start or turn off. So between the 2 was a very rough night . We even went home and didn’t stay the full time . We love the location and that you can sit on porch and watch the waves but last few times stayed there , there was issues with the rooms

This is a perfect spot for a few days. Location is awesome and the facilities are great. The only negatives were the noise from the pool pumps outside the bedroom and the mattress is extremely soft and really should be replaced.

Stayed in room 104, so just about this room. The bed is in desperate need of replacing it is softer than a giant marshmallow. Coffee pot needs replacing, couch is horrible. All te common areas are fantastic, very well maintained, staff helpful and friendly. It's just this room wioll take my back weeks to recover from.

As always El Constante is a great location and very reasonable prices, I have stayed in many units over the years. I probably wouldn’t stay in this particular unit again, it is pretty out dated compared to some of the others and the furniture needs replacing, it is dirty.

We were looking for something close to the beach and were not disappointed! Just a few steps away and then a short walk to the jetty where we saw sea turtles, stingrays, people fishing and even a dolphin! The room was spacious and the kitchen was pristine and had everything we needed. Checkout was simple and the pool/hottub were clean. Only complaint would be the coffee maker was dirty and the living room furniture is quite stained and worn. But we weren't inside much anyway. Excellent stay!

Unfortunately I had to leave the property to go over and stay at GulfStream where we had stayed before and there was no issue with my trailer parking. It’s the beach, guest are going to have trailers. I wish this was explained at time of booking and I would have never booked with this condo area. The stay there was very inconvenient. I won’t stay again.

Thank you for your review. As stated in our rental agreement, "Trailer parking is not available at the majority of complexes" this complex being one of them. We did explain over a few different phone calls that trailers could not be parked in the parking lot, but were welcome to be parked street-side attached to a vehicle.

The furniture was very outdated and worn out. One of our days was dealing with a tropical storm so we had to stay in. Having really bad knees I couldn’t sit on the couch or the two very small chairs. The bed is worn out as well.

Have stayed at El Constante many times, been in almost all the front units. Property is always nice, clean and the people are helpful if you need them. 104 is nice but has 2 major problems. They need to replace the mattress, way to soft. The shower door opens in and you can turn the water on unless you are standing in the shower.

The staff at El Constante and at Padre Escapes are always awesome!!! The rooms facing the water (all of them) need to be updated. The furniture is dirty. The overall property is always clean and well kept. The maintenance person (Blonde hair male) keeps everything so clean. He works very hard.

The overall property was clean, secure and well maintained. Unit 104, where we stayed, was clean but worn. It is right on the beach with a great view. The furniture in the main living space was decent. The mattress is horrible. It was obviously old and so soft that the whole thing bowed when anyone laid on it. The TV in the living room runs on a Roku, which was signed out so never worked. Also, the kitchen had a really random assortment of glassware. We bought coffee mugs and left them there because there weren’t any mugs that were not literally the size of soup bowls. I would recommend the condo property but not that unit.

My husband and I loved our stay here. The view is perfect. We could enjoy the ocean from both the comfort of the living room and walking down several yards to the beach. Padre Island is a wonderful low key getaway. Just beach, warm water,sea breezes and dune grass with good restaurants nearby and without the feeling of a tourist trap. After having been in 100 degree heat in San Antonio, this was heaven. El Constante has well maintained rooms and a very nice pool for reasonable prices. Looking forward to staying here again.

El Constante is a great property, we stay here every visit. This trip we stayed in unit 104 for the first time and we were not pleased. The bed was horrible and felt like it was falling apart. We did not sleep well the entire visit. The dining table and chairs were very cheap plastic and not even level. This unit needs updating for sure. So I recommend El Constante but not unit 104

The location is great as you can sit and watch the waves of the ocean, the hang gliders, the vehicles on the beach, and the sun bathers. The furnishings of the condo need to be updated as they are not the most comfortable.

El Constante 104 was perfect for a couple for a few days. A very nice little condo that faces the beach and Gulf. Though the weather was less than ideal, a little windy and warm until a rain shower cooled the day off nicely. It's a very nice condo for a getaway to the Gulf coast. The unit was clean and the property management is top notch. We stayed at the El Constante before, though not this particular unit and would stay again for a longer stay! Plenty of good local restaurants to get your seafood fix as well as a fully equipped kitchen to eat in if you prefer to stay put. Great location for walks on the beach and dips into the Gulf.

Stayed at this property in April 2021. Weather didn't cooperate (cool, windy, some rain) but bad weather at the beach beats good weather at work any day. Condo was well equipped. Bed very comfy if you like soft. Very nice of management to provide some cleaning products, which lasted through our stay. Management very friendly and helpful. Other visitors very friendly. Condo backs up to pool; a little noise from kiddos during the day but not disruptive. Sofa could have used a couple of throw pillows. Beach is spotless and beach drivers very respectful of noise and trash ordinances. Appreciated the heated pool. Overall, would gladly return. The view can't be beat!

We loved our time in 104! Beachfront is definitely the way to go. We enjoyed sitting on the porch listening to the waves and the gulls. Walking to the beach is super easy

The location is absolutely perfect. The complex is in well maintained and the staff friendly. The condo itself, however, could use a good cleaning as the shower was full of mold and the kitchen sink was dirty.

Thoroughly enjoyed our time as just a getaway from being confined due to the virus. Didn’t do much but just relaxed watching the swimmers, surf gliders, walkers, and our walks on the beach. We had a perfect view.

The staff, pool and ocean view were great. But it stops there. We could not enjoy sitting out because the people next to us were smoking. The beach has two people playing loud music. The dining chairs were not stable and felt like you were going to fall as well as being hard as a rock and uncomfortable. The A/C vents were all rusted. Whoever put the shower together must have been drunk. The bathroom sink and kitchen sink faucets were loose and not marked for hot/cold water as well as the shower faucet. The bed was very soft. No rugs on the hard floor. No way to wipe off your feet before getting in bed. Front patio not swept off--but I swept it off. Furniture old and outdated. Not enough dishes for four people. Had to call in someone to fix the TV. Should have been checked before we arrived. Door to hard to open. In a fire we would burn to death before getting out.

Super location with an awesome beach view. Loved waking up and having coffee outside steps from the beach. North padre is a gem. Not too busy but just enough action like watching kite surfers in the afternoon. Condo had everything we needed.

Great location and the room stayed in had great ocean views. If any problems with anything the management and staff very helpful and there to make sure things were okay and we were okay with everything. Can’t wait to go to Padre again and stay at El Constante.

We have stayed numerous times at El Constante and have always loved the perfect beachfront location. The access to the beach from the beachfront rooms can't be beat. Unfortunately, our room was not as luxurious. We have stayed in the unit many times before, but the wear and tear is certainly showing now. The shutters in the front had multiple leaves broken-hanging off, could not be turned the right way, thus making it impossible to block the harsh morning sunlight. The furniture is also worn - the cloth couch and chair have seen better days. Some relatives of ours stayed at the condo property next door and our jaws just dropped in the difference in quality and care. We will be staying at the property next door next time, even though we love everything else about El Constante.

My family began coming to stay at El Constante in the early 90’s. I’ve continued the tradition. Many things have changed over the years, but I’d like to review a few things. Our frustration was primarily with the particular room.

Property: Many updates to general property. Clean. Great location. Consider toning down pool lighting for those with bedrooms facing the pool.

Room: Poor condition. Visited in May 2020 and stayed in the same room. Room 104 had shutters that were busted that hadn’t been fixed. No curtains on bedroom windows, Fenway Park-esque pool lighting made it nearly impossible to sleep without our improvising. Dishes and utensils were a mess. We had 1 spoon.

Staff: Office staff was very nice.

Misc: Room was NOT clean at all when we arrived. Toothpaste was still caked on bathroom countertop. We brought our own cleaning materials. Kitchen countertop had a layer of something brown that we cleaned off. Room smelled awful upon arrival. Considering everything going on, this room cleanliness was unacceptable for pre-COVID. Not that it can be helped, but first floor can hear everything on 2nd floor, especially 10m sprint Olympic trials going on above us until 10pm.

We still enjoyed our stay, but we did not get what we paid for. Recommend the property, but not the room. Someone needs to give 104 some attention.

Amazing view, great location, nice pool. The inside...not so much. There must have been a leak near the air conditioning unit that is being ignored. There was mold and mildew completely surrounding that area and into the bathroom. We even saw mushrooms growing out of the baseboard right outside the bathroom! It was disgusting. The smell was overwhelming, especially upon arrival. Just had an overall dirty feel. We enjoyed the property and location, but would never stay in this unit again...maybe other units are better maintained?

The pros are you are right on the water, right there! No driving to the beach, it was so nice to go back and have lunch at the condo, The kitchen is updated, and bathroom. The cons, the shower glass had a lot of build up on it, and mold in the shower, dust on the walls in the living room. We got in late at night, and the door was open and sand was already everywhere in the condo. We were immediately hit with a mildew or mold smell, but that may come because it's right on the water. We called the next day, and they offered to come clean, but it was a Saturday, and we wanted to go to the beach, the staff was very nice and apologetic. The bed was comfortable and clean. We enjoyed cooking our own meals, it was well stocked with stuff. It needed some dish soap, if you want to hand wash some stuff. You can't beat being on right on the water. We would stay here again, but maybe not this unit because, the mildew smell never went away the whole time we were there.

such a cute condo, right on the beach! we were able to safely distance from the crowds and still have a front row seat on the patio. and we LOVED the comfy mattress, what a nice treat!! the office was nice enough to bring us some ice cube trays when we called. it was my birthday trip, and everything was just perfect!!

My sister and I usually do a cruise and then a road trip, but with the C-19 Virus and sister being HighRisk due to surgery we opted to stay closer to home this year. 104 is ocean facing where we could sit on the porch or inside and just watch the beauty of the ocean and watching all the kids playing in the sand and water was great. The location of this condo is great!

Our overall experience at El Constante was mixed and could have been better. The location of this property is fabulous; beautiful beach front with awesome sand and views. Neighboring guests were friendly and cordial. Overall, the unit was clean and orderly.

Our displeasure is that we were NEVER made aware there was major construction and renovation taking place on the property. It was noisy and disruptive in addition to the fact a portion of the pool was closed off. Further, the construction workers were less than professional and were able to gawk at guests in the pool. Just creepy. Minimally, we could have been offered a discount for our inconvenience. Not only was that not offered, we were NEVER informed of the construction before we arrived. This was very poorly handled.

When we stopped at the office to discuss our concerns, we were met with complete disregard. The owners of this unit should know their property management staff is not making tangible effort to earn positive, repeat stay equity from their guests. As a result, we are very unlikely to return to this otherwise very beautiful spot!

We appreciate your feedback but for almost a full year before the construction started we had the following posted to every property at El Constante: STARTING ON SEPTEMBER 3, 2019 AND LASTING UNTIL EARLY JANUARY 2020 OUR BEACHSIDE BUILDING (units 108-128 & 210-231) WILL BE UNDER CONSTRUCTION. CONSTRUCTION IS FACTORED INTO THE CURRENT PRICING; NO ADDITIONAL DISCOUNTS WILL BE APPLIED. I'm not sure how we could make it any more clear.

We had been told to look past the remodeling going on when we pulled up and yes you can see the construction, however even that is being handled very clean and orderly. Our rental #104 was clean and top notch we were immediately emerged in the relaxation that comes from sitting outside being absorbed by the gulf waves. Like a child opening a present the lurer of getting our feet wet and walking long stretches of the beach continuously called us morning noon and night. This was everything our friends had told us about concerning this gem and swinging the sofa towards the windows provided the same pleasure for hours on end as we found a laid back enjoyable break from the world’s noise replaced by the waves.

During a storm the second night of our stay, a window on our car got smashed by a flying object. They arranged for a company to come repair the window first thing in the morning, and the next day had their maintenance man vacuum up leftover glass inside. Only issue was the bed was a bit saggy, my husband tried sleeping on the hide-a-bed the last night, it was broken but he was able to put the mattress on the floor to use it. Super location and wonderful people there to assist you!

Fabulous location and very nicely updated. Would definitely consider staying again. Only complaint is that the bed was extremely soft and not comfortable. Maybe needs to be replaced.

The condo is located directly on the beach, and it is literally only 7 or 8 steps down from the sidewalk to the sand. The condo was great - clean, seemed like the decor was new, kitchen was well-stocked and appliances current. The staff was friendly. The pool and all the grounds were clean and seemed well-kept. The condo was stocked with soap, towels, paper towels, all the stuff we needed for our short stay. There is nothing negative I can say about the room or our visit there. So excellent that we are already planning our next trip!

This condo is beachfront and on a corner so there’s only one shared wall and of course there was a condo above us. It sounded like a herd of elephants were staying above us. I think they had about 12 people staying in a 2 bedroom condo.
Everything else about the condo was great. Newly decorated, clean and well-stocked with supplies. The pool was great and you can’t beat the view from the front porch to the beach.
All was great as long as you planned on staying up late because the herd upstairs ran back and forth through the condo until about midnight every night.

My children and I stayed at El Constante during March 2019. The room was wonderful. The view was amazing. The front office workers were so nice. Everything was awesome. Great pool... love the washer and dryers. We love this place. I won’t stay anywhere else.
