El Constante 201

We have always had a great experience at El Constante! Great place to stay. We will always go back, just not to 201. Mattresses need to be replaced, I have said this before. And I cannot understand why you put in that huge bathtub, with a 7 ft showerhead that is near impossible to adjustable unless you are over 6 ft tell. It would have been so much better as a walk in shower, as it is a dangerous for older to get in it to take a shower. The couch is really nasty, we used beach towels to set on. Switch on lamps in master was broken and lamps was unusable. Hot water is barely past warm and no way to set it!!

El Constante Unit # 201 was a big letdown. The furniture was old, worn and dirty, the walls were dingy, and the entire place felt poorly maintained. The bathrooms (especially the en suite) were dirty and outdated. The kitchen appliances were old, and the patio chairs were filthy. Even the banister was sticky and gross.

My husband and I were really disappointed — we felt uncomfortable the whole time and honestly couldn’t wait to leave. I wouldn’t recommend Unit #201 to anyone. It needs serious cleaning, maintenance and major updates.

The unit had issues even before we arrived, upon arrival the shower heads in either shower did not function properly and Maintenance came out Tuesday evening to fix / replace heads, the slider door on the main floor was very hard to open and close. The half bathroom door would not open properly and the kids and my wife got stuck inside. The air vent for the a/c unit had dust hanging off of it and had not been cleaned.the furniture felt dirty and had grit or something on them upon arrival, the silverware drawer face fell off and I reattached it and notified the property manager. Overall this was by far the worst one I have ever rented and will not rent this unit again

This was our third year to stay at El Constante. The unit was very nice, comfortable, and affordable. The staff and the overall facilities are excellent. The one problem I had was that one of the guests had parked his very large pickup truck in the disabled parking space next to the front entrance, thereby blocking the wheelchair ramp and the sidewalk. He did have a disabled parking permit, but that doesn't allow him to block the sidewalk and the wheelchair ramp when there are other mobility impaired guests. To make matters worse, he was parked in that same spot for the entire week we were there. This made it difficult for others who are mobility impaired to access the wheelchair ramp and the sidewalk. I reported this to the desk clerk upon check-in, but nothing was ever done. I realize that this problem was caused by an inconsiderate guest and not by El Constante, but it seems that maybe you could install some signs or at least check periodically to make sure this isn't happening. It made it very challenging for those of us with mobility issues to access the property.

Both condos had fantastic views of the beach. 101 was really cozy. 201 was also nice, but it could use some updates in the bathrooms, couch, and chair. The living room needs a new couch and chair. I wouldn’t even sit in the recliner and covered the couch with a blanket. Everything else was great though!

We have been coming to El Constante for 30 years. This was worst unit we’ve had. Front door deadbolt was hanging on by one screw and door was split open like the door had been kicked in by someone and never fixed. The kitchen sink faucet wasn’t bolted down so it just flopped around when you turned it on. The air intake vent which is down low enough for our granddaughter to touch it was caked with dust and rust. The sink faucet and tub faucets in master bathroom had hot and cold backwards. The tub had mold around the edges. The floor tile was missing most of its grout. Time for a refresh. Management sent someone to fix the front door but we shouldn’t have to ask for things to be fixed. The cleaning crew had to be aware of all of these items and should have reported them. Very disappointing for the money that we were paying.

Right on the beach and great view of the ocean! The upstairs was a little warm but we used the 2 box fans to help circulate air. We were able to use the bathtubs due to now stopper and jets not working. However, it was easy to check in and out per email instructions!

This was our 4th yr. at this complex. Love the heated pool and hot tub. Spend 2 months there. Could use a new couch and recliner. I bought sheets to cover them. The good outweighs the bad. Great oceanfront veiw! Great customer service on site.

We had 2 units, 201 and 203 at the El Constantine, we stayed in 203 and when first walking in thought it smelled a little musty. After the first day I did not notice it anymore. It was a great location, right on the seawalk and close to the jettie. The El Constantine was kept clean and updated and the only complain I have which was partially my fault is that I left a pair of sandals outside by the hot tub and they were gone the next morning. I checked with the desk and no one ever turned them in.

Decor is dated and incohesive, but the place was clean and well maintained. Would have liked to have had an extra set of towels for the kitchen. Would stay here again.

We choose this location since it’s one where you can have a beautiful beach view from your rental. We loved being able to wake up seeing the Gulf and being able to walk to the beach from our place. Unfortunately that was where it stopped for us. When we arrived there was a roach on the counter and the rental is just very Tun down and didn’t seem very clean.

Great condo for easy access to the beach. Our kids enjoyed the heated pool and being able to walk right out to the beach to boogie board. Kitchen had everything we needed and beds were comfortable. The multiple decks were nice to look out at the water. 2.5 baths were nice for everyone to share would be nice if they would update.

We so enjoyed the stay. It was our 12 th anniversary. Previously, we stayed in 1 bedroom. And will probably try for a 1 again. Because we are 70ish, the stairs are not as easy as they were 15 years ago�� when I was there with friends. My husband and I will continue to stay!

Was overall good experience. We booked for next year. Everyone was so great.
Love the towel service, heated pool and hot tub.
2nd upstairs bathroom needs some fixing. Vanity drawers are musty. Wallpaper is peeling and the fan did not work. The tiles were not glued down in the master bath. No ice maker in freezer was kind of a hassle, but we got used to using ice trays.

El Constante is our favorite little get away.
The beach front units are harder to get because they stay full, especially in the summer , and then when Winter Texans arrive, it's even more difficult to get in. So when we are able to go we enjoy every day there very much. It is always so hard to leave. The views are awesome. Beautiful beach and ocean and amazing wide sidewalk to walk. People are always friendly there. We loved the nice patio and window coverings facing the beach in this unit. The bathrooms upstairs have not been renovated need to be, especially the master bathroom and we hope they will be renovated in the near future. AC cooled great downstairs. Ceiling fans were nice upstairs. This summer was really hot. Kitchen is nicely renovated. Many units have large TVs in living room, this unit's TV is small. Private stairwell was a plus making it more quiet with no other people traffic coming up. I recommend this corner unit, it just really needs some tweeks like a much bigger TV in living room and renovated bathrooms upstairs. Then that would make it realllllly nice. Thanks!! Hope to return to this unit and see these updates!!
The Staff and Maid Service were all very nice as always!! They make our experience so very wonderful here at El Constante. We hope to return to El Constante again!! Highly recommend El Constante!! The secret is out, El Constante is the jewel on North Padre.

Our rooms air conditioner was not working. It was replaced with 2 units that were installed at the sliding doors which did not allow us to open the door to sit on the balconies to enjoy the view. We were a group of ladies on a fixed income & it's hard to save money for a short vacation. They could of offered a little refund. We will not go back to this condo. My family used them b4 & I let them know what happened & they also will not be using this condo.

We love, love, love this condo! The location is perfect and it was overall very quiet and relaxing. Traveling with a toddler is rarely fun :) but the direct access to the beach made it super convenient for coming to and from for snacks and potty breaks. I would definitely book this condo again.

Upstairs condo with two floors inside. It was hard to bring all beach stuff upstairs then back down to beach. The second floor of condo was very hot but I’m glad they provided a fan I needed it.

All was wonderful except the construction going on in 202. The staff was not notified that it would be going on so cant blame them. Unit was perfect. Firm bed amazing! One note...if u are into cooking like I am BRING YOUR OWN knives and a decent cutting board. We would definitely come back to this unit.

Great location. Easy access to beach. Property clean and maintained dail( guy working his butt off every time I saw him), condo nice but could’ve been a little cleaner(was if hair on shower wall from previous renters)......GROSS! The only other problem....one of the code gates to access the beach or pol area jammed and wasn’t fixed....probably because it was a weekend, our washer/dryer door unable to use( which we didn’t plan on coming down to do no worries with that,but for future renters). All in all I would recommend to friends or family and I would revisit! Next time tho’......I’d request FIRST floor....getting too old for all the steps exercise! Hahahahaha!

This was the first time staying at El Constante. I will NOT book again. The floor was dirty and I picked up several clumps of hair. We only had 2 trash bags in the kitchen and when I asked for an extra one, I was met with hesitation and was told that they only provide 2. It was the same with dishwasher pods. The dishwasher did not work the first day. It was fixed but it did not work when I started it on our final day. Toilet papter roller in downstairs bathroom was broken. Hair and sand in upstairs bathroom. Too much money for what we got.

I would definitely return to Unit 201 because of its location and view of the beach...the kitchen has been remodeled but it needs some organization with the dishes, etc. My only complaint about the kitchen is the silverware, it is so small, like a childs set, needs to be replaced with adult size. There is no broom to sweep the floor. The living area TV is very small and on a small stand so the equipment is blocking the TV...should be mounted on the wall. The beds are fine, drawers in the chest would now stay in, they kept falling out. The bathrooms definitely need up dating. These are things you can live with, but for the price they should be addressed. I would recommend this property and will return.

We enjoyed a week at the El Constante in early October. The condo was nice and clean and had a great view of the beach. They have a nice large pool as well. It's a short walk to the beach which was great. A few items to mention are that there are no elevators so you have to carry your items up stairs to the second floor if you are in a second floor unit, there was a fairly sparse set of kitchen items compared to other condos we've stayed in, and with the condo being two story and the bedrooms being upstairs, they get pretty warm. Despite those few items, though, we still enjoyed the condo and we had a nice week there. We will definitely look at going there again in the future.

Let's start with the location, Fantastic!!!
The furniture needs a MAJOR make over.broken ,outdated ,used to the bare threads,,shades falling apart. Brewed a coffee on a minuscule coffee pot and during brewing the carafe broke. minimal supplies. BUT the staff was fabulous and very friendly.Called maintenance for clogged drains and within the hour they called my phone to ask permission to enter the unit. I will go back and give it another try but not unit 201.Hope the other units are in better shape. Can't BEAT THE LOCATION AND THE VIEW.

Perfect stay. Great place to take my mom for a girls trip. Right on the water and directly behind a lifeguard stand. Take a truck or something you don’t mind having on the beach if you don’t want to haul your stuff back a forth every day. Other than that it was a great stay.

This was the most wonderful experience I have had in years. I arrived to friendly smiling faces and a well maintained complex with plenty of safe parking. The condo was perfect, it was clean, equipped with everything needed and allowed for 7 to sleep comfortably. The beds were extremely comfortable and the view was outstanding. This is my 2nd time to stay here at el Constante and each time has been excellent. Great people great atmosphere for the whole family. Best location for the money in all of south padre.

Our family had a wonderful time during our stay. The property is facing the beach so waking up to see and hear the waves was very relaxing. Our grand-daughters had a great time on the beach splashing in the waves and building sand castles. The beach was very clean and we even saw many sea turtles. It was just a great time for all of us. The property was also very nice and clean. We will definitely return someday, and will recommend it to our friends and family.

Complex was fantastic but the unit itself was a little disappointing. The pots and pans were a disaster , the beds, quest bed and all pillows need to be upgraded. Lack access to washer and dryer and any cleaning supplies. The condo management addressed all concerns that they could .Would highly recommend the complex but not this unit.

overall good place. Oceanfront. Problem with plumbing allowed sewer water overflow. Management was fast in getting professional plumbers in. And afterwards, getting cleaning people to clean area. Minor problems: Kitchen: silverware fit for children. 1 dull cutting knife. Glad I brought a sharp knife from home to use. We had to purchase 2 inexpensive rugs for in front of the door & patio.
Helped with the beach sand. No hotpads; had to purchase. Dishtowels provided too small & thin.
Had to purchase 2 dish towels. Bedroom: King size mattress hard as a rock & caused pain because i have fibro. Kingsize bottom sheet provided didn't fit bed properly. Mattress pad thin, worn & with holes. Otherwise, staff was very helpful with any problems we had. NOTE: don't stay through spring break.

We were very pleased with Unit 201 in El Constante. Ocean front, very clean, spacious, 2-bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, very helpful staff in the office. Although we didn't use the pool, it looked inviting and was well-maintained. This would easily be a 5-star stay if they would just put a 1" memory foam topper on each bed. The beds were just not comfortable, so I'm calling it a 4.5.)

We have stayed at El Constante for the past 35 years and now take the grandchildren. Grandchildren enjoyed it all!
More cooking dishes would be nice. We barbequed and did not have big pans for the meat.

It really is amazing to be able to walk out and step onto the sand. The view was spectacular too. I wish we had stayed longer than 2 nights.

We stayed in unit 201. It was in a great location but that is all that can be said for it. Everything in the condo was bottom of the barrel cheap; from the tiny TV to the ceiling fan that makes more noise than a 747, to cutlery so dull that it won't cut a lime, to a mattress so hard it felt like plywood, to bed sheets that smelled like mildew, to the outdated bathrooms, the place is just trashy. Could not pay me to go back.

We had s great time. The beach being right out our door was fantastic. The pool was beautiful and very clean. The room was very nice with new appliances and flooring. The only thing we missed having was a washer and dryer. And the dumpster was far to carry the trash out. We would come again.

El Constante is a quaint complex in a fantastic location. We enjoyed the beach, pool, hot tub, and relaxing courtyard. The week we stayed there was exterior work being done to the condos. They are going to look great when it is finished! This particular unit is in need of interior updates. The wiring is off in the master bedroom the tv's cable only works when the closet light switch is on and you can only have one cord plugged into an outlet at a time. The refrigerator needs to be replaced; the front of it is rusting, the two bottom drawers are being held together by tape, and the door is missing interior brackets so you cannot put anything in it. The decor and flooring are outdated and on the pull out couch you have to sleep "upside down" as it sits at a fairly steep slant. While the place is functional, if you cannot get past the cosmetics, it is not for you. It's too bad, too, the location of this unit is premiere.

The cond’s view of the ocean was incredible! However the interior design was very outdated, furniture and carpet looked filthy and the outside of the refrigerator had rust all over the front of it. The master bathroom is also in desperate need of an update.

I wasn't informed at booking that there would be construction going on during our entire stay. Needless to say the wife & kids were less than pleased with the massive amounts of construction debris in the pool and hot tub. Two of my children almost fell from a 2nd floor patio due to an unsecured railing. We lost all power the 2nd day of our trip for 13 hours. Ruining hundreds of dollars in groceries. When we called the emergency maintenance number we were repeatedly hung up on. We're well aware that some things are unavoidable, like power going out. But horrible customer service is avoidable. Securing hand rails is a must, even during construction.

We apologize for these inconveniences. We did contact every guest staying at the complex and made additional contact with those guests staying in this building that was under construction. The power loss had nothing to do with the construction, power was lost on the whole Island. That's why your calls were not going through ("repeatedly hung up on"). This incident was out of our control. Due to the inconveniences however we did issue you a significant refund and we contacted you the following day. I apologize for these inconveniences.

Nice older condo, but the carpet didn't appear to clean but probably was just worn out. Great view, right on the beach which we throughly enjoyed. Had all the kitchen items needed. There was construction going on right next to our unit, but they didn't start the work to early so it never woke us up. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
