Shore Thing CBC111K

This is my second time to stay at the Beach Club. The first time we had ants in the kitchen. This time the were a number of problems. The internet in the condo was HORRIBLE. It was so bad that the kids could not use their tablets, I couldn't check emails, and the smart tv worked occassionally. We figured it out that if you really wanted to use the internet, you needed to be right next to the router to do so. The people above us were so incredibly loud all day and all night. It sounded like the were drilling through the floor, there were nights that my children had a hard time falling a sleeping with the loud bangs that would hit their floor/our ceiling. The hallway to our condo was always covered in sandy foot prints like someone walked straight off the beach into the hallway. There was also a dirty diaper in the hallway for a good 2 days, gross. The pool needed to be cleaned. We were there for 6 days and everyday we would get clumps (I mean huge clumps) of hair on us while swimming in the pool. The hot tub was out of order for a few days while we were there, then it was back in working conditions. However, the water temperature was too hot to even get in it. At one time there were about 8 kids in it, standing and peeing in it.
Finally, as we were loading up and cleaning up our condo from our stay, my kids and I took our trash out at 10:30 and returned at 10:35 to find out that we had been locked out of our condo. We did not do the checkout link or anything. I still had my phone and car keys in the condo. Luckly the patio door was still unlocked so I had to climb over the patio railing to get back in the condo. This is unacceptable to lock your guests out before check out time or before being notified your guest are checking out.

Our stay was very good but there are few things that could have made it great. First of all, the mattress on the bed was very uncomfortable. You could feel the springs when you laid down. We later discovered a hidden mattress in the closet, but it was the second to the last night and we were not sure if it was supposed to go on the bed or if it was an extra mattress for guests. We were actually very tired when we discovered it and just decided to not deal with it and went to sleep instead. The other thing was that the hot tub was not working any of the 5 days we were there. That's one thing we had been looking forward to. Also, the hallway leading to this room is very run down and unattractive and needs some attention. Other than these three things we really enjoyed our stay. We loved how clean and cozy the rental was. We enjoyed the pool and the work out room. We also liked the super quick drive to the beach and great restaurants close by. Over all Shore Thing CBC111K will always hold great memories for us.

Overall the the shore thing CBC111K was nice, however, the couch bed was uncomfortable and the AC would not go lower than 71 and it got hot at night for me. We didn't get to utilize the hot tub and that was one of the things I was looking forward to with my boyfriend in the late evening. Had I know that I would have booked somewhere else. I never meet any staff, just received a text on how to get in and a text to check out. One other thing the hose for the car wash was not there to utilize.

Thank you for your feedback. Just to clarify, setting the AC below 70 can cause it to freeze and stop working, so we recommend keeping it above. Some owners restrict their thermostats for this reason. Also, due to local water restrictions, the car wash hose has been temporarily removed—our apologies for any inconvenience. Nice place has everything you need for your stay. Very clean! Very close to the beach as well as the main road. Quiet area and easy access since it's on the first floor. Washer and dryer in the unit makes it very convenient. No issues whatsoever!Would recommend this unit for your next stay!

The entire building/ unit had a weird musty smell that would not go away.the pull out couch is incredibly uncomfortable and the mattress has a cheap plastic covering that made it impossible for my daughter to sleep. I guess this is to prevent bed bugs but the property owner should upgrade from cheap plastic wrap to something else. The beach club property is well kept up and a short walk to the beach. I recommend the property but not this specific condo.

Very disappointed with this condo. Very old furniture felt like a cheap motel. I think this condo needs a face-lift really bad. Won't be back.

Although we left a day early because of an approaching tropical storm, my husband and I loved the condo we stayed in and the location which was within walking distance of the beach. The property management was very easy to work with. We would definitely stay here again.

Overal I'll give 5 out of 10, Aoartment so old and RUSTY, all the appliances need upgrades, fridge and dryer are the worse, I couldn;t use the dryer because the Rusty INSIDE, So it was very unconfortable. Need deep cleaning and PET CONTROL,trash under the floor and we saw litlle cocroaches on the floor, disgusting, in general I wouldn't stay there anymore.

Extremely dissatisfied with the total lack of upkeep of this rental property. An old musty odor confronts you as soon as you enter the unit. Describing it as dated and drab would be an understatement. It was very apparent to us that the owner has no interest in maintaining this properly to accommodate guests. It looks as if nothing has been repaired, painted or properly attended to in any way. All the furnishings need to be discarded and replaced due to their disgusting condition. I would be surprised if the owner has visited or viewed the place since opening it to guests. The place was so odious that we left a day earlier than was booked because of the numerous issues I have described below.
- Bathroom with significant rust on ceiling panel and in the bathtub
- Black mold all around bathtub caulking and grout areas
- Rotted and moldy floor and door wood trim throughout unit
- Single panel curtains were used on all windows and did not offer privacy or shade
- Refrigerator exterior with significant rust
- Walls throughout the unit were generally damaged with dents, scrapes and holes
- Patio door was difficult to open due to sticking jamb and damaged hardware
- Extremely poor bathtub and bathroom sink drainage, almost complete stoppage
- Thick matted dust and grime on wall hangings, fans, door ledges
- The mattress was full size rather than queen as advertised. It was very old! Bed springs could be felt and squeaked with any movement. Bed pillows were disgustingly old and unusable. Extremely uncomfortable sleeping experience

This room is a mile from the beach with great food within blocks from the room. Very nice pool and spa and fishing pond on site, The room was clean when we arrived with fresh bedding, pet friendly! This was an affordable get away and we feel like it’s the best bargain in Port A. Thanks for a great stay!!

Clean and good location. Good amenities provided. Good Wi-Fi connection. Needs some updating like getting rid of the popcorn ceilings, replace very loud and old dryer, bathroom needs updating (rust on the wall/ceiling), difficult to figure out the bathtub faucet. The building access from the parking lot was not friendly to people with mobility issues. It was difficult to climb the steps with luggages, cooler with wheels, and the white handrail was rickety (not sturdy). Parking for this particular condo should be closer to the building, instead of in front of another building. People upstairs were very noisy (happened after 10pm) stomping their feet. And the TV in the bedroom didn’t work...even after following all the instructions provided. Instructions for location of dumpster should be provided. Perhaps we just missed this info if it was provided.

We have stayed in several units at this property over the years. This unit was not so great. Past units we stayed at were in better condition. Most felt like the owners vacationed in them too. This unit seemed like it was purely a rental, was filled with deferred maintenance and smelled like mildew. I would have gladly paid a bit more for a nicer unit like our previous stays, but there really wasn’t any way for me to tell from the pictures that that wasn’t what we were getting this time. Overall we were a bit grossed out and not sure we’d rent again unless we were confident we were getting a better unit.

I have stayed at several Beach Club condo units, and even owned a unit for a few years. The one bedroom we stayed at had equipment in need of replacement and was not as clean as any of the other units we stayed before. The bathtub was not cleaned properly and even rust stained, and the coffee maker needed to be replaced as the burner had caked on coffee.

Pros: Nice condo with a great pool, many grills, a block from the beach. The apartment is good, great space, the kitchen is well equipped and everything is clean.

Cons: this units is asking to have some investment like a better furniture, curtains to block the sunlight, and the sofa is not smelling good and not comfortable at all (for kids...imagine for adults).

The master bedroom mattress is old and needs to be replaced. Kitchen appliances are great and tons of utensils. Washer and dryer in unit are nice amenity. Corner unit at front of complex is great location to whitecap beach. Gazebo is fun to hang out in at night!!! Watch out though because after a rain mosquitoes are killers. There were millions!!!

A last minute plan and was really happy to find such a beach friendly location. The walk was literally 7 minutes and not in a hurry. Some literature said pool was 24 hours but found it locked at night. My only real complaint was the bed was very hard.

WE STAYED AT YOUR HOTEL THE WEEKEND BEFORE 4TH OF JULY AND THE STAY WAS WONDERFUL, WALKING DISTANCE TO THE WHITE CAP BEACH AND NEAR RESTAURANTS. THE ROOM WAS VERY CLEAN AND HAD EVERYTHING MY HOUSE HAS IN THE KITCHEN. THE BED COULD HAVE BEEN A LITTLE MORE COMFORTABLE IT WAS TO HARD, BUT WHAT I CALL HARD COULD ACTUALLY BE OK FOR THE NEXT GUEST, MY FAMILY AND I WOULD DEFINITELY STAY AT YOUR HOTEL AGAIN.

I was so happy! We hadn't had a vacation in years and we came to padre island and stayed in your rentals and it was the best time I've had in a long time I felt so comfortable. Only thing was I had to mop the floor, it was very dirty. My feet were black and I didn't want to sleep in that bed with dirty feet, even going from shower to the bed it would have gotten dirty so I just mopped the whole place. Other then that it was wonderful. Thank you sooo much!
