Padre Escapes saved our vacation! We had originally booked a different rental through Airbnb but had to immediately leave because of the condition.
This place through Padre Escapes was accurately represented. It was even better than the pictures. It was clean, safe and child friendly. We will always book this location when we visit and we highly recommend.

It was a nice condo close to beach! Only problem noted was that the GFCI on the wall with the stove kept tripping every time you tried to use the coffee pot had to move coffee maker to a different plug on a different wall. Also the living room rug was pretty soiled and could used a good shampoo or replacement.

The property was easy to reach once we finally got directions. 4:00 is late for a check in and it was hard since we were driving from California to predict arrival time especially not having an address of where to go, exactly.
The fridge needs a new filter.
The property is nice but people do not respect pool hours. Just an FYI.
Overall it was a nice place to stay too bad the weather was not cooperative.
May want to warn folks about the sand fleas around the place so they are prepared especially if they are from out of state as they may not know about them.

Came down for a weekend vacation. Check in is at 4 , but we weren't able to get in our room until 5 . After a few phone calls asking when our room would be available and no direct answer, finally talked to an on site manager and she explained there was an issue with the toilet and was being fixed. If the office personnel would have explained this, it would have been alot better experience. Also bathroom door sticks . Over all good location and clean apartment. Kids had a great time in pool , especially slide . Why we pucked this location.

This rental was great. Spacious and clean. Very close to the beach, a quick drive across the street and a few blocks to reach the beach. The pool on the property is very nice but could be cleaner. The pool water was foggy and our eyes burned through the next morning. The condo had a weird smell the entire stay, could be the cleaning products they use but the smell camr home with us and I was not fond of it. Over all would still stay again!

We've stayed in this condo three times now and always enjoy it's convenient location, nice amenities, and comfy beds. On another note, there was a new Keurig coffee maker that we could not get to operate. We did find another coffee maker in the cabinets, though, so we did have coffee. The frying pans have seen better days and food sticks badly to them.
Leaving the outer paper wrapping on the toilet paper is silly. In both baths, when we tried to get the paper off, the toilet paper holders flew apart. We did get them put back together.

We love staying at Village By The Beach! Its proximity to the beach makes it a breeze to go back & forth. We love the pool! It's literally out your front door! This condo was very clean & the beds were comfortable. It even had a margarita machine with a full set of beautiful glasses to go with it (though we didn't use it).This was our 4th stay in the complex. This condo had the least amenities of any we have stayed in. Luckily, we were also renting a second condo for other family & we did our cooking there. Other than the glasses with the margarita machine, there were only 2 full size glasses. The rest were small. There were minimal pots & pans & one needed to be thrown away. One of coffee cups had the handle broken off. There were no complimentary trash bags or dishwasher pods to get you started. The handle on one of the chairs on the porch wasn't attached. Also, they are serious when they say they provide one towel & washcloth per person. Just a few updates & maybe add a few more items to the kitchen & it would be 5 stars.

We loved staying in this unit. It was immaculate and exactly as the pictures showed. There was plenty of space for the 6 of us to spread out. The furniture and bedding was all very comfortable (my kids preferred to take the mattresses off the rollaway beds and sleep on the floor).The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we could possibly need. The office staff were very helpful with any question we had. The best part was being able to walk downstairs, past the pool, down a few stairs right to the beach. We did notice that the air conditioning didn't seem as efficient at cooling the upstairs rooms as the main floor. Convenience store was just up the road, and major grocery store was about a 15 minute drive away. Plenty of things to do in the area if you need a break from the beach: aquarium, art museum, science museum, shopping, water park and more. We will definitely try to come back next summer!

Nice place to stay. Pool was right in front which was really nice. Pool water was also salt water I believe which was really good for someone who is sensitive to chlorine water. Walking distance to the beach. It was nice that we can have morning walks at the beach without having to bring our car to there. The room was super spacious. It does comfortably fits 8. It has two big bedrooms. I had booked for 8 people, 4 in one room and two on the other room and two had to sleep in the pull out couch. This part is the only thing that we did not liked. The couch was dirty and full of sand. I just wish they had thought of getting that cleaned since 8 people are staying there. Other than that I still liked this place. We enjoyed our stay.

I really enjoy staying here but I feel a better cleaning service is needed here. Floors were dirty and the entire place smelled like raw fish. It seems like no one even tried to clean the refrigerator which was the source. Coffee maker was dirty as well to the point I didn’t feel comfortable using it.

My family of 3 adults and a dog thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The corner unit was across from the pool- very convenient yet
shielded from sounds of “lively” poolgoers. We tended to swim early in the day and around dinnertime to avoid crowded conditions. The beach was a short walk away and just beautiful! The unit itself was spotless and extremely well-equipped.
Having a washer-dryer was a gift. All communication with staff very smooth and responsive. Great experience!

My family and I had so much fun! The pool was beautiful and so clean! We were right by the beach so we were able to just walk there. The condo was very clean and welcoming when first arriving! Check in/out was super easy! Just got an email with our code to get in. Didn’t have to go to an office or anything. Super cool. We had everything we could possibly need to cook dinner (that was a huge plus). Washer and dryer helped us out A LOT! overall we had an amazing time and we definitely will be booking with padre escapes again! Thank you for making our mini vacation so much fun and pleasing!

We changed our original vacation date from July 3rd to July 24th due to the city official's COVID concerns & suggestions. The Padre Escapes staff was wonderful & easy to work with amidst uncertain circumstances, & even helped us add a day so we could get more beach time. We had hoped that delaying would allow for beaches to open to cars, but no such luck...plus, we got a hurricane too, so lucky us! This unit was not our original choice but ended up being almost perfect for us & our 3 young children. It is a "gulf-side" corner unit, which allows for more natural light in the unit (ideal for storm power-outages/increased viewing). It was protected from the direct wind, & is excellent for loading/unloading the car. It is located directly across from a pool gate, so much less walking & child-herding is required. It is nicely decorated & stocked with all needs (except a broom). It was not, however, as clean as I would have expected during COVID times. Since we were stuck inside a day during the actual hurricane, I did a LOT of additional cleaning of high touch surfaces and minor repairs (tightening screws on doors & drawers, & zip-tying lose bunk-bed ladders). It also has a margarita machine, but we didn't touch that as it appeared not to have been well-cleaned. The entire complex faired well in the weather with minimal wind damage & no flooding (~18hrs power outage, plant debris in the pools & 1 pool overflowed). The complex was cleaned up quickly afterward, as well as they could until the power was fixed. The pool maintenance team came out after there was power and balanced the pool quickly, so it was usable too (but still a little dirty). The walk to the beach was also very doable with the use of beach wagons. I'd say, it wasn't much further than some of the very long boardwalks in Port A. Over-all, I'm rating the ENTIRE vacation a B+ due to less beach access, room cleanliness & maintenance issues. We will probably be back next year to try yet another unit.

The booking process was a bit confusing with the constant computer malfunctions instructing me to sign rental agreement that had already been signed and confirmed. Check-in was later not ready until after 4:00pm. Dining seating was minimal and two of the stools at the dining table were very wobbly and the lining was being held up with straight pins that one came out and was on the floor which could have caused problem if someone had stepped on it. The unit was clean and stocked well with needed items for the week. There is lack of outdoor space to walk pets.

It's not locked so if you want to leave your boat somewhere the location is not that great. Everything else was perfect!

Very clean and newly renovated (different from the photos) we absolutely had a great stay here! Right on the beach. The pool was very nice and the kids had a blast. Kitchen is well stocked with dishes and appliances. We can't wait to go back and we would definitely stay in this unit again!

The condo was just pictured on line. Everything was clean and neat and everything we could have asked for in the kitchen was there. Only complaint, I listed six people but only received towels for four. Luckily I had plenty of beach towels which we had to use for beach and bathing.

Everything about our stay was fabulous. Our rental was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked for our cooking needs and had a Margaritaville machine as a bonus. Once again we were very pleased with our stay. A few pieces of furniture were needing of repair and we made sure to call that in on arrival. The shower curtains in the bathrooms have mildew on them. We have stayed in this unit four times over the past two years and like it very much. Besides being a newer construction, it is spacious and well appointed. It, of course, has all the essentials and offers plenty of room for a family to spread out within the unit. The furnishings in the living room are comfortable, though the couch is the only thing you can “sprawl” on, so if you have lots of sprawling kids, they may find themselves doing this on the shaggy carpet as we do. Within the complex the unit is positioned on the back end of one side, giving you just one neighboring unit. If you drive a larger vehicle, you will appreciate the location of the parking for the unit – right at the end, next to the fire lane – offering plenty of maneuvering room. There is a bit of a pro/con about the front porch position. It has no “view”, looking onto the back of the neighboring property and one of the entry gates to the pool. This is also where one of two grilling areas for the complex are located, so there is some come and go and usually activity in the grill area right across the fence in the afternoon / evening. However, being on the corner provides a nice cross breeze making time on the porch comfortable.
There were a few minor maintenance issues during our last visit (that we reported upon departure) that will hopefully be quickly and easily resolved. And we were disappointed on our last visit to find no DVD player, as is shown in the listing & had been present in the past, since we planned some movie watching during the heat of the day.
A note about the complex location on the island – from this unit, you can take a short walk down the alley to the nearby cross street and walk straight to a beach access point that offers parking and restrooms right on the sea wall. From here there is a ramp for beach access. This provides a good option if you just want to go to the beach to walk or run or stroll along the sea wall without packing up your vehicle to park on the

The unit was beautifully furnished. Beds were comfortable.
We had a problem with a thief. Someone stole our cooler out of the truck and it was tied in, a $500 yeti. People from other condos in the area are using this properties swimming pool. You need a security camera and a fence around the property.

We have noticed non-Village by the Beach guests accessing the pool area, the HOA is currently working on secured gates to prevent this from occurring. I did a lot of research on many websites and this rental was on most of them. However, I have rented with Padre Escapes before so I went to their site directly and they had the best price of all the other sites. The apartment was very clean, as it gets used often, therefore cleaned often. It was the perfect size for us and our price range, had an awesome view of the beach, pool, pond and other parts of the island. The staff was great and got us anything we needed right away and was very pleasant to deal with.

The only thing I would change would be the pull out sofa bed mattress. But luckily, my kids didn't mind it.

We have used Padre Escapes the past 2 years and plan to use them from here on out. The big websites that say they find the best prices do not link to them, but for each place I researched Padre Escapes had the best prices all over the island and throughout Corpus Christi. They have any type of rental you're looking for.

We loved the unit and the pool. Our unit was very close to the pool. It is well maintained and very clean. Padre Escapes was excellent with any issues or questions we had.

This was an unexpected trip, and it was for an out-of-the blue birthday getaway. It was priced well and the pictures on the website were not deceiving. The description was accurate to what you will see when you walk in to the condo. The pool was a step away from the door, which made the vacation for us. The beach was either a walk or drive away. I highly recommend booking with them. Furthermore, the rental staff was very professional and answered any questions I had. They were also able to accommodate my requests.

Room was just as nice as in the pictures. Everything was clean, and fully functional kitchen that we used to make several meals. Several BBQ pits on site, and what I liked was that 2 were in the shade in the early afternoon. From check in to check out, everything was simple and stress free. Great location and great quality. More than worth the money.

We had a great vacation here. The condo was much more spacious than it appeared in the pictures, and the outdoor area by the pool was a great place for end of the day cocktails.
I thought we would be able to walk to the beach, but the fact we could drive our rental car right onto the beach less than a block away was even better.
The pool was well maintained and the kids loved it.

Beautiful cottage; beds were wonderful; kitchen was great; bathrooms were updated and appeared new. Wish it had a view and more outdoor space. only complaints: waterfall on pool didn't work, several roaches were found in rental, but may have come in when we left door open.

This rental property is really nice, from the first time you walk through the doors, you don't get a sense that you are on a "regular" vacation because you feel like you are home. This particular rental is at the very end of the property, so it was easy to get in and out and the entrance to the pool was right when you got out the door. The rental is so clean. The whole experience was the best that I would run out of characters if I went on. The only thing I would change about the experience is check-out. I received good communication all the way until I checked-out in which I did not receive a confirmation email that I had checked out on time. Luckily, I did not run into any issue with extra charges, so I would say the stay was PERFECT, otherwise! I would come back again, for sure!

We loved this unit. Just a few suggestions from a comfort/use level. Lighting was poor in all rooms. Need brighter bulbs in all rooms and definitely a tall lamp or two in the living room for those rainy days of relaxing with a good book. Perhaps at least 1 more comfortable chair in the living room. Sofa was excellent but the 2 green chairs, while pretty, are not really functional for relaxing in a beach getaway. Other than those things, this unit was perfect! A great day other than when one of our guests left his expensive fit-bit by pool at night along with his shirt and after the pool deck cleaning crew left, they moved the shirt to the table by the bathroom but no fit-bit was to be found. We tremendously enjoyed our stay.
