El Constante 124

We love this location. Right on the beach, great for families. Units are clean and can host a short or long term stay.

This is our second trip to El Constante. Only stayed for a weekend and this time in the first floor smaller unit and brought our dogs this time.

A chair was broken but we didn’t need it, but everything else was great.

The hot tub was out of order both times but in the summer who really needs that. More importantly, the pool is maintained well, the guy who does this is always out there cleaning sand etc and is a nice dude.

If you stay in the first floor, be prepared for a noisy experience. The family upstairs sounded extremely loud walking around, but I don’t think they were intentionally doing so. Hardwood floors just get noisy, and luckily our toddler didn’t mind it.


We’ll absolutely return, it’s slowly turning into a home away from home.

Nice cond except middle of night started dripping water from ceiling. Worker came and poked hole in ceiling and draind water that apparently came from apartment above. They said they sent plumber to fix problem. My concern to use this condo again is wether or not they replace dry on ceiling or perform mold mitigation.

This is the third year that we have staye at El Constante. We have enjoyed our time here. This is our second time staying in in #124. It’s always clean, the staff there are always happy to help you. The only thing that annoyed me was the stove. The four elements where all on an angle it makes it a little difficult to cook. Otherwise I love this location and will be back next year.

The staff is super friendly, clean property and room, economically priced. Both the pool and spa were both heated; and it was nice to just jump in and enjoy. The property is right on the beach which was very nice. We were able to take nice walks every morning on the beach & enjoy mustang island amenities. The property was super quite & no rif-raft.

The only one issue I had was the WIFI network provided to me for unit 124, was not working; therefore, I was not able to use the TV for netflix and computer for work.

I had 3 kids with me. It was perfect because we could walk to to pool and beach easily. We could come back to the room to eat and go right back out to enjoy the beach/pool. It was close to Snoopy's and Docs if you want to eat out with a view. The place was nice and clean.

Lots of cute decor. It was well maintained. I was told I would have to check in 1 hour late to ensure the rental was sufficiency cleaned because I did rent late. Which was fine,I understood. So I expected the rental to be spotless but the floors were still full of sand. Which is expected because we are at the beach. But the rental was not even swept. I did find a broom and swept it myself and it was fine. Other than that we had a great stay. The pool was amazing. I would stay again.

Stayed in a 1 bdrm condo. Was well furnished. Pots, pans silverware and baking.We were there for 68 days. The pool was amazing even on cooler days. The beach was very well manicured. Would have liked to find more shells. The finest sand I've ever seen. I was very satisfied. Made a few friends. Overall it was relaxing fun and very enjoyable.

A/C was ice cold in living room, but bedroom was stuffy and uncomfortable. A/C vent in the bedroom had extremely light air flow. Management came out and said it would take awhile to cool, but was working fine. Had an uncomfortable night. Management said they’d check their inventory for a fan, but never responded back. It’s the owners responsibility to provide amenities like that, but an answer would’ve been nice. Shower and mattress were good. TV had a mind of its own, but management came out to address it. As a Texas native, A/C comfort will make or break your sleep. I was so disappointed since we had a perfect stay in another unit in August. If you’re the type of person who’s always cold in bed then I think you’d enjoy this unit. Kitchen was fine.

We stayed a few days and really enjoyed ourselves. The checkin process was easy. The property was clean and a short walk to the beach. We were glad that it was on the first floor because it made it easy to sit our beach items on the porch. It’s also close to restaurants and stores. We purchased groceries and cooked. We plan to return next summer.

This little gem was amazing for our family of 3 plus 2 dogs. The home was well stocked with dishes and linens, clean and well maintained with a few minor exceptions (spare pillows were stained, and the master mattress was not the comfiest). My only real complaint was that there isn’t a full length mirror (only the bathroom mirror, so you can only see from your chest upwards). Otherwise, the proximity to the beach, the pet-friendly no carpet first-floor unit, the ease of booking and key code access were extremely convenient. We definitely plan to stay again!

I chose this property because it is pet friendly and closes to the beach. We had some maintenance issues which were fixed. TV issues took 4 days to fix requiring the cable provider to send someone to replace the cable boxes. We left a day early because we brought a dog with us who was stressed out. Since we drove to the beach( chairs, umbrellas ice chest etc.) I think I will not pay the price for the location which is why this condo rents is so high.

Great location, just what we wanted. Everything we needed was in our condo and the office staff was very friendly. We were only there 2 nights and had no problems. I would recommend it and we will definitely stay at the location again. The 1st floor condo was great for our pet and we’re so greatly We could bring her. I do think the bed mattress probably needs to be replaced, not as comfy as could be and some of the furniture could be replaced, a little old and outdated, but overall great stay.

The location was great and I love that it was pet friendly. The pool was nice because there happened to be a lot of seaweed on the beach during our stay. The beds aren’t that comfortable, especially the foldout. Next time, I’ll bring an air mattress instead of using the foldout. Overall, a great place.

My 83 year old mother and I stayed here for 3 days to enjoy the beach while in town for a wedding. Mom slept in the bedroom and I took the couch. We also brought our dogs, a tiny mini-dachshund and a medium-sized red heeler. Overall, the unit was perfectly appointed for our needs. I slept on the couch, unopened with the sheets and blanket provided and was quite comfortable. Mom reported that her bed was very comfortable. We especially appreciated the location with a view of the natural dunes directly out the window and the beach also in view. The location on the north east side of the building also blocked a lot of the wind coming from the southwest most of the time we were there. My dog and I had several great hikes up and down the coast and into the dunes. My Mom enjoyed the peaceful view and dipped her toes in the water. The unit is not level to the parking lot and sidewalk. There are 4 tallish steps to the front door. This mattered to my Mom a lot. She was able to maneuver them, but very, very slowly and there is thankfully a hand rail. But it was not easy for her, or her tiny little dog. We easily shared the bathroom and did not need to get basic provisions like toilet paper, soap or dishwashing liquid for a 3 day stay, as enough was provided for us. We could not get the dishwasher door closed in order to run it. Otherwise all was in order.

We had a very nice stay at your condo! The place was clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.
The only negative was that there wasn’t a convenient place to walk the dogs. All of the grass around the building was filled with pickers, so we had to take our dogs to the beach to do their “business”. You would think that wouldn’t be so bad, but it was a long walk due to the building configuration and the ongoing construction project.

We needed a place to stay while our home was being readied for us to move in to and this little condo did not disappoint. We were right on the beach and the unit itself was well-equipped and clean. It's an older building, but well-kept and we really enjoyed our stay. We were on the first level so we were subject to noise from units above, but that's just the way things go in these type places and really didn't affect us that much. It was one of the few pet friendly rentals on the island which was nice. Overall, a great experience and we have already recommended it to friends and family who will be visiting here. The only thing my wife didn't like was the lack of a full-length mirror, lol. So the owner may want to consider adding that for the girls.

Let me begin by saying that I am not usually a complainer... and we did enjoy our stay with you overall. I also want to say that everyone that we interacted with working at El Constante was super friendly and helpful. Your location is amazing and our experience at the beach itself was wonderful! The condo itself was small, but quaint.

We stayed in room 124 from Friday 05/12/2020 - 06/01/2020. Here is what made our family vacation stay not so great.... CONSTANT NOISE!

Construction work was being done at a condo neaby which caused a lot of noise during the day, and then what seemed to be at least 3 sets of feet (asuming kids) running and stompping around on the floors above us until past midnight... every single night of our stay. I have photos of construction work but had no way to capture our lovely neighbors upstairs. BTW, I would have taken day construction noise over all night stomp the yard any day of the week!

I did contact the office, but it was after hours and the recording set for callers just left a contact number to call for emergencies (which I did not consider this situation to be). Both of my boys (5/10) would come to be crying, whineing, and complaining that they could not sleep. We turned on noise makers with our cell phones all the way to the max, but that barely matched the noise that came from above.

I did go to the office the next morning to make a noise complaint. They assured me that the party staying in the rental above would be notified... and I am sure that they were... but unfortunately it did not make a difference. We heard continue thumping, jumping, running, stomping, pounding throughout the nights again. We loved the time we had outside, but the time inside was not the best means to relax for sure.

We ended up checking out at 5 something in the morning on our check out day because we had enough of not being able to sleep. Who checks out at 5 AM versus 11 on the beach? People that are despe

I arrived late about 7pm. They left me a message with a code to get in. Party of 4 when it came time to sleeping the sleeper sofa was broken and unusable. I tried calling maintenance and nothing. Next morning after a bad night of sleeping i called an informed them of the situation. You would think i would be discounted or something but nothing. They did come and fix it. I spoke with 2 diffrent people and emailed and and no message response back. Was hoping for something anything was for the unpleasant night I was dissapointed

Ive stayed at El C. for many yrs w/ no complaints. However, this time, was one of the worst rooms Ive had anywhere (including budget hotels), especially when you are paying $200+ a night!Upon walking in, we were slapped in the face w/very strong smell of something that I would describe as old moldy tent. It was VERY strong. Once in rm for a while, you get used to it and dont notice it, but, each time we walked in, it was tough. As we sat to relax, upon arrival, I couldn't help but notice that the furniture was terrible (we are not picky or snooty, it was merely that bad) I got the impression that we got the runt of the rooms on such short notice of making our last minute reservation (on the way there). The white wicker livingrm table was all scuffed up and dirty where people put their feet. The desk in the living room was all worn out, peeling black lacquer from the 80's. The entertainment center was old and had a VHS player- no dvd player,useless and indicative of why we began to understand that we might have gotten the runt of the rooms in the complex. After looking at all of that "junkie" very old looking furniture, I began to see that the large sofa looked dated from the same era and just as tattered, along with that old ugly recliner. The bedroom had unmatching nightstand held together w blue painter's tape and a wicker mirror that looked as if it fell off wall (w/ the screws still in it) laying on the chest of drawers behind the tv. The worst was the non-stop stomping/walking above us all day and night. We could hear the whole conversation of the family above us "Joeeeeeel! Joeeeeeel! Come eat your cereal!" Luckily, we were out most of the time, but, this was a terrible stay at that place. The entry was all peeled up paint, unlike all the others. Id like A refund! We complained 2x, upon entry & checkout. All they said was "no one ever complained before"-No discount,apology, or anything.

Everything was clean and neat. The management was very helpful and friendly. This was our first year staying in Texas. We booked again for next year closer to the pool. Appliances need to be updated. Refrigerator leaked water inside and was very noisy.
Maintenance adjusted the temp. but nothing changed.

It was really nice condo. Location was good. Just a couple of things was room had a musky smell. No iron or ironing board which it was stated in brochure that it was included. Also pillows had yellow stains so next time we will bring our own pillows.

We were recovering from a hurricane so yes there was work going on during your stay and there were changes made to the cancellation that brought El Constante up to speed with current industry standards. It was surprising to see you posted such a negative review after Padre Escapes and the property owner went out of our way to accommodate you with a delayed payment during your time of need. We're disappointed to see your review but we do appreciate your feedback.

This was our first time at El Constante. Over all we were happy with the property, however, we stayed in unit 124 and the sofa sleeper definitely needs to be replaced. My two girls are 12 and 14 and very tiny and they were extremely uncomfortable on the sofa sleeper, the bottom half was collapsing and springs sticking out. BBQ pits would be a PLUS.

Really nice people at the front desk, love the beach towel service. The only inconvinience was the speed at the cars drive thrue the beach, I know its not an issue of the El Constante but its not nice when your are there with kids

Padre Escapes staff

I've been coming to this property for years and have never had any issues. This time in the early AM had a water leak and had a staff that apparently didn't care. Good thing my husband and I got up to protect the condo owners electrical items. I.e. Tv, cable box and so on.
